Western Christian beats West Fork for seventh state title

DES MOINES - As the saying goes, there are three certainties in life. It's death, taxes and Western Christian being a state boys' basketball title contender.The Wolfpack notched their seventh championship Friday night, beating West Fork, 48-38, in the Class 2A title game. It's Western's seventh gold trophy, third most all-time, its first since 2010.The inside duo of Taylor Feenstra and Josh VanLingen proved too much for another opponent, the duo combining for 32 points and 24 rebounds. Western completed its season 27-0.Sam Amsbaugh led West Fork (25-2) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Warhawks have been in a state championship game three times in four seasons, with one championship.Here is the game boxscore:
