Here are a few quick hits from Week 6 of the prep football season:
* - Cedar Rapids Washington's Ryan Cain dove in for a 5-yard touchdown in the waning seconds for a 27-24 win at Iowa City High. The victory snapped the Little Hawks' Mississippi Valley Conference record 33-game regular season win streak. It was City High's first MVC defeat since losing to CedarFalls late in the 2007 season.
*- In a battle of Class A District 4 unbeatens, Postville remained perfect with a 31-20 win over defending state champion North Tama. The fifth-ranked Pirates scored 21 points in the third quarter and shutout the No. 2 Red Hawks' in the second half to snap their 19-game win streak and sit alone atop the district standings.
* - Center Point-Urbana snapped a six game losing streak dating back to last season, dropping Marion, 24-19. The Stormin' Points (1-5, 1-3 3A District 5) never trailed, forcing four turnovers and receiving 206 rushing yards and three touchdowns from Brandon Roseberry.
* - Area teams have punched their postseason tickets after Friday night's action. In Class 4A, Linn-Mar (6-0), Cedar Falls (6-0), Iowa City High (5-1) and Iowa City West (5-1) are in from the MVC. West Delaware (5-1, 4-0 District 4) and Solon (5-1, 4-0 District 6) earned a playoffs berth in 3A. Starmont (6-0, 4-0) and Wapsie Valley (6-0, 4-0) have clinched in District 5. Postville (6-0, 4-0) and Lynnville-Sully (5-1, 4-0) secured a spot in District 4 and District 6, respectively. Lansing Kee (5-1, 4-0 District 4) qualied in Eight-man.
