Iowa (6-3, 4-2) at USC (7-2, 5-1)
Where to watch: Saturday, November 15, 2025 2:30 PM - Fox Sports
Line: USC (-6.5)
Mike Hlas (2-1, 24-9) — I’m not being sent to L.A. to cover this game. The writing is on the wall here, and I don’t mean the rather unkind graffiti I spray painted late last night in the editor’s office. USC 31, Iowa 14
Madison Hricik (1-2, 22-11) — First time in LA for me! Though Saturday’s weather doesn’t look all that great, but a West Coast test is a West Coast test ... and Iowa will be hungry to bounce back. Iowa 21, USC 20
Jeff Johnson (1-2, 19-14) — I wonder if Tom Arnold will be at the game? USC 28, Iowa 14
Rob Gray (1-2, 22-11) — In the mid-1970s (for whatever reason), Iowa and USC decided to play three seasons in a row. The Trojans won all three games — and outscored the Hawkeyes 96-3 in two triumphs at home. Expect a much tighter contest a half-century later, as Iowa enters as a seven-point underdog, but will be in it from start to finish. USC 21, Iowa 20
Beth Malicki (1-2, 20-13) — This week we saw KCRG’s John Campbell’s last story. He retired in 2012 and returned part time to share stories about athletes of all levels and Iowa’s natural beauty in ways only he could. I’ll miss those stories, but mostly I’ll miss John’s presence in the newsroom and how he truly cared about us all. Enjoy full retirement, my friend. USC 24, Iowa 20
K.J. Pilcher (1-2, 20-13) — Iowa has made a habit of being competitive in every game. The Hawkeyes just can’t seem to close some of them. USC 27, Iowa 20
Coe (7-2, 6-1) at Central (8-1, 6-1)
Hlas — Sorry, my Coe friends, but I’ve always been partial to the Dutch since that incredible day in Amsterdam when I over-sampled the local herb and found myself in a canal swimming against the boat traffic with (Continued on Page 13C). Central 35, Coe 28
Hricik — Backs against the wall for a playoff spot, and that’s always a fun kind of matchup. Coe 28, Central 24
Johnson — Coe is named after Daniel Coe, who was a financial backer of the school when it began in the 1850s. Hlas was a young boy then. Coe 21, Central 17
Gray — The Kohawks are riding a five-game winning streak. The No. 19 Dutch have lost just once all season — to No. 6 Wartburg on the road. The winner will stand alone in second place behind the Knights in the American Rivers Conference standings. Coe 27, Central 24
Malicki — I started doing Pilates because it’s supposed to be easier on my joints and if I don’t start exercising my physician is going to fire me. Sadly, it’s now my whole personality and I exclusively wear black leggings and grippy socks. Coe 20, Central 17
Pilcher — Central wins and it will make the playoffs. The same should be true for Coe. A loss will likely end the season. Central 20, Coe 17
Upper Iowa (8-2, 6-1) at Indianapolis (9-1, 7-0)
Hlas — It is beneath me to make a ludicrous remark asking why Upper Iowa is playing the Colts. Also beneath me: Everyone else in the Pick ’Ems standings! Indianapolis 49, Upper Iowa 28
Hricik — GLVC title game will not require a share this year. Indianapolis 31, Upper Iowa 20
Johnson — Upper Iowa’s had a heck of a season at 8-2, with a shot at an NCAA Division II playoff berth. If you weren’t aware. That being said, Indy is ranked 10th nationally, so … Indianapolis 35, Upper Iowa 21
Gray — It’s Peacocks vs. Greyhounds in a battle of teams atop the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings. An Upper Iowa win would secure a share of the league title. Call it an instant Indy classic. Weird, wild stuff. Indianpolis 37, Upper Iowa 33 (2OT)
Malicki — It’s time for me to come clean as one of the candidates who dropped out of the running for Iowa State University president. With my sarcasm, unremarkable academic record and lackluster knowledge of college sports, it was clear I was too qualified. Indianapolis 34, Upper Iowa 24
Pilcher — Upper Iowa has a chance to still win the Great Lakes Valley Conference but needs help. Beating Indianapolis will be challenging enough. Indianapolis 34, Upper Iowa 14
