CEDAR RAPIDS - Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz helped close the third season of 'On Iowa Live” Monday night before a packed audience at The Fieldhouse.
Ferentz, whose team wrapped up spring football practice last Saturday, made several points during the hour-long program, which also was telecast live on KCRG 9.2:
' On playing two quarterbacks this season, 'Anytime you have good players, you want to get them on the field.”
' On the improved wide receiving corps,”Two years ago, we really didn't have competition.”
' On his starting kicker and punter, 'It's wide open ... The smart thing is let the guys compete in August.”
' He called recruiting an inexact science and added 'If someone dropped down from outer space, I'm not sure they would know what we're doing.”
Ferentz also took questions from the crowd, and posed for photos and signed autographs afterward.
'On Iowa Live” will return in August at a new location, Vito's on 42nd Street in Cedar Rapids.
