Dec. 16, 2011 9:25 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS -- Too much defensive pressure, too much size. Just too much everything for Cedar Rapids Jefferson to handle Friday night.
Danielle Franklin scored 13 points as part of a balanced offensive attack that helped Class 4A fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Washington to a 66-39 win over Jefferson at the Warrior gym.
Washington (5-0 overall and in the Mississippi Valley Conference) led from start to finish, piling up a 35-14 halftime lead. The Warriors forced 22 Jefferson turnovers and outrebounded the J-Hawks by a 35-26 margin.
Kelli Klaus and Aleena Hobbs had 11 points each for Washington. Hobbs and Franklin are sophomores.
Rachel Broghammer's 17 points led Jefferson (4-5, 1-4 MVC).
