Wartburg hosts baseball, softball camps

Wartburg College is hosting softball skills camps on January 16 and 23 and its annual baseball school Jan. 22 and 23.
Softball – Jan. 16 - Pitching Camp: Pitchers ages 6-18 should register by Jan. 7 for one of the following options: 1) advanced session focusing on specific pitches, 5-6:30 p.m., or 2) beginning session covering basic fundamentals, 6:45-7:30 p.m.
Specialty Camp: Position players in grades 5-12 should register by Jan. 7 to participate in drills on team offense/defense and learn tips for strength training from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Jan. 23 - Offensive and Defensive Skills Camp: Players in grades 3-12 should register by Jan. 14 for a 2-5 p.m. session on the fundamentals of hitting, bunting, base running, throwing, and fielding.

Baseball – Jan. 22-23: Session I runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 22 and covers pitching and catching. Session II runs from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 and covers fielding and base-running. Session III runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 23 and covers hitting.
The school is open to students in grades fifth through 12th. A brochure with a registration form can be downloaded via the baseball school link at the baseball home page of www.go-knights.net.
