Whether or not the pink visitors' locker room at Kinnick Stadium actually has a psychological effect on Iowa's opponents is up for debate, but Coach Jim Harbaugh and third-ranked Michigan wanted no part of it prior to Saturday night's game at Iowa.
The Wolverines plastered the walls with Michigan logos and sayings, making it feel a little more like Ann Arbor.
According to numerous accounts, the tactic was first used by former Michigan Coach Bo Schembechler, who was just 2-2-1 at Kinnick Stadium after Hayden Fry's arrival and locker room redecoration in 1979.
As Fry wrote in his book, A High Porch, "When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us."
And if Fry saw this video, he might have accurately predicted what would have happened Saturday night. The Hawkeyes upset the previously-unbeaten Wolverines, 14-13.
