The Iowa Games, an annual event by the Iowa Sports Foundation, is going on this weekend.
Most of the events are happening on the Iowa State University campus in Ames except for the BMX race. It was held earlier today at Cheyenne Park, Cedar Rapids. The rain that started before the race turned the track muddy and slippery. Participants raced to the end by maneuvering their way carefully in order to not slip or slide.
Participants came from all ages, ranging from 5 to 50. They were divided into different age groups and class - novice, intermediate and expert. There were
Before the race began, the track was utilized by the participants to practice. They kept zooming around the track even as the rain approached. Ten minutes after the rain began, Iowa Games BMX commissioner Chris Neff, announced the start of the competition. The youngest age group for boys started off as parents cheered on the sideline.
The result of the race will be posted to the Iowa Games website.
