UNI women’s basketball upsets Kansas State

The Northern Iowa women's basketball team closed out the non-conference portion of its season with a win over Kansas State Thursday night, 67-59.
Madison Weekly led the Panthers (7-4) with 20 points, adding a career-high eight assists and six rebounds. Hannah Schonhardt chipped in her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Mikaela Morgan (11) and Ellie Herzberg (10) were also in double figures for UNI, which made 13 of 32 3-point attempts and shot 43.8 percent overall.
K-State (10-2) was paced by Karyla Middlebrook's career-high 19 points. The Wildcats' only previous loss was to No. 1 UConn.
UNI opens Missouri Valley play Dec. 30 at Missouri State.
