Turnovers doom J-Hawks against Linn-Mar

CEDAR RAPIDS -- It was a bit too much size inside. And too many turnovers. Cedar Rapids Jefferson was just a bit outmatched against Linn-Mar as they fell 51-40 Tuesday night at the J-Hawk gym.

The Lions were led in scoring by their two centers, Shanice Cheatham and Alexis Libenguth, with 10 points each, while Kristen Eiles chipped in with eight. Lions coach Mike Brandt said that the game plan was to play go inside.

“Going into the game, we wanted to try to look for the inside move first, and then come back outside if it was there. I thought we did a good job of that for the most part, though at times in the second quarter we kind of got away from it. But anytime you come into a place like Jefferson, and get a win on the road, is very good.”
