The passing of a legend

A legend left us this week. His name was Ken Charipar, and he was quite a guy, who I was proud to call a friend. He passed away Monday at the age of 80. You may know him as a plumber in Cedar Rapids for 40 some odd years. But most of us will know Kenny in a different way. He was a baseball man. Through and through. He knew the game better than anyone I ever met. I used to kid him, and say he forgot more baseball than any of us will ever know. Thing is, I was right.
