One more regular-season week in the two biggest classes, but this is it for Class 1A and 2A boys' basketball teams. The final Gazette/Iowa Prep Sports boys' basketball poll.District first-round games, most as part of double-headers at various sites, were scheduled Monday night, though the never-ending winter postponed many of those. Almost all of the ranked 1A, 2A teams have first-round byes.That includes unbeatens Western Christian (21-0) and New Hampton (20-0) in Class 2A. They are rock solid first and second.West Fork remains third, though there is a shakeup the rest of the way. Treynor and Carroll Kuemper flip spots from last week, the Cardinals moving up to fourth.Mount Vernon (16-5) had a nine-game win streak snapped, dropping from eighth to ninth. Wamac Conference mate Dyersville Beckman (17-4) has a 10-game win streak and moves into the 2A rankings at No. 10.There are four teams in 1A that made it through the regular season undefeated, and they are the top four teams in the poll: Newell-Fonda, LeMars Gehlen, Lamoni and Ar-We-Va, all 21-0.Keota (20-1) moves up from sixth to fifth. Springville (19-1) is a new entrant at 10th.There is a new No. 1 in Class 3A in Dubuque Wahlert. The Golden Eagles (15-3) have only lost to 4A fourth-ranked North Scott and No. 1 Dubuque Senior (twice, once in overtime), taking over the top spot from Clear Lake, which lost its first game, to 7-13 Charles City.Benton Community (16-4) joins the 3A rankings at ninth.Senior remains a solid No. 1 in 4A, followed by Iowa City West, Bettendorf and North Scott. Des Moines North and Waukee switch spots at fifth and sixth, respectively, after North's win last week over Waukee at Wells Fargo Arena.Here are all of this week's rankings, with last week's in parentheses:
