TCU 94, Iowa 92 (OT): 3 Takeaways

IOWA CITY — The Iowa men's basketball season came to an end in the second round of the NIT Sunday with a 94-92 overtime loss to TCU at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Here are three takeaways from the game.

1. Overtime ending

Iowa saw its season ended Sunday with a 94-92 overtime loss to TCU in the second round of the NIT, and it was some old bad habits that came home to roost for the Hawkeyes.

The Horned Frogs got efficient offense throughout the game, to the tune of 50.7 percent shooting and 52 points in the paint. TCU also got 28 points off 17 Iowa turnovers – 12 of which came in the first half.

The Hawkeyes had a chance, still, in the end, but Cordell Pemsl's 15-footer wouldn't go at the buzzer.

2. Peter Jok's final game

One of the best shooters in Iowa history went out proving that moniker.

Jok finished his final game as a Hawkeye with 22 points, five assists and four rebounds on 8 of 17 shooting and 5 of 10 from 3-point range.

He ends his career averaging 12 points per game and shot 37.6 percent from 3-point range in 124 career games played.

3. Future is bright

While the Hawkeyes season is finished, there is no shortage of hope for the future.

With all but Jok and (very likely) Dale Jones returning, Iowa will have all but 19.8 points per game coming back.

Jordan Bohannon finished Sunday's game with 25 points and 13 assists – his third straight double-double – on 7 of 12 shooting from 3-point range. Tyler Cook had 16 points and five rebounds on 7 of 7 shooting – though he did have seven turnovers.
