Shortstop Kellen Sweeney hit a three-run home run in his first game in over a month as Cedar Rapids Jefferson knocked off Waterloo West in a Class 4A substate first-round baseball game Friday night at West, 12-5.Sweeney was a second-round draft pick of the
Toronto Blue Jays in early June and has been practicing but not playing for the J-Hawks during contract negotiations. This was just his 11th game this season and his first since June 7.Jefferson will host Marshalltown in a substate semifinal Monday at 7.
