Senior center Kiah Stokes scored 20 of her game-high 30 points in the first half as Linn-Mar build a 29-8 halftime lead en route to a 54-28 Mississippi Valley Conference girls' basketball victory last night at Cedar Rapids Prairie.The No. 2 Lions (17-1, 12-1 MVC) forced 20 turnovers.The Hawks (4-13, 3-10) were led by Mackenzie Blaha with nine points on three 3-point field goals.
IOWA CITY HIGH 67, C.R. KENNEDY 51 - City High opened the second half on a 10-0 run to erase a five-point halftime deficit and went on to down the Cougars at home.The Little Hawks were led by Virginia Johnson's 24 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.Sierra Chambers and Mickey Hansche also scored in double figures for City High (14-4, 9-4 MVC).Courtney Strait paced Kennedy (5-11, 5-8) with 24 points.
