Notre Dame earned a trip to its first state final, rallying from an eight-point halftime deficit.The third-rated Nikes (23-3) will face No. 1 Newell-Fonda (24-2) for the title at 6 p.m. Friday.Four Notre Dame players scored in double figures, led by Taylor Hickey's 18 points. Courtney Coffin added 12.Victoria Leyh scored 14 to lead No. 2 Janesville (24-2).
CLASS 3A SEMIFINALS
Unity Christian 50, Crestwood 41Anna Kiel posted 20 points and 14 rebounds, and the sixth-ranked Knights (22-4) held their end of the bargain for an all-Orange City 3A final.Kassidy DeJong added 16 points and seven assists.Unity built a 29-24 halftime lead, then pulled away in the fourth quarter.Savannah Lentz paced No. 2 Crestwood (22-3) with 13 points.
MOC-Floyd Valley 64, Mediapolis 51
Alexis Conaway set a five-player state-tournament scoring record with 46 points to lead the top-ranked Dutch (25-1).Conaway made 17 of 25 shots, plus 12 of 13 free throws. She added 13 rebounds and four steals.She broke the single-game record of 44, set in 1994 by Janel Grimm of Montezuma.Darby Massner led No. 4 Mediapolis (24-2) with 16 points.
CLASS 4A SEMIFINAL
Harlan 45, Carlisle 42The top-ranked Cyclones ended Carlisle's Cinderella season and returned to the 4A championship game.Last year's runner-up, Harlan (25-0) will face Western Dubuque for the crown at 6 p.m. Saturday.Taylor Wagner led the Cyclones with 14 points. Taylor Frederick added 10.Mary Grace Wachel paced No. 6 Carlisle (20-7) with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The Wildcats reached the semifinals a year after finishing 1-22 last year.
