Burlington Notre Dame 57, Newell-Fonda 54Free throws told the story as the third-rated Nikes edged No. 1 Newell-Fonda.Notre Dame (24-3) made 14 of 19 attempts from the line, including a pair by Riley Kilbride with 11 seconds left that broke a 54-54 tie.Newell-Fonda (24-3) was 11 of 25 and settled for second place in 1A for the fifth time.Kilbride made all six of hers, all in the final 5 minutes."I've never been so nervous in my life," she said. "I just had to take a couple deep breaths, follow through and knock them down."Kilbride led the Nikes with 16 points. Kori Mesecher added 11 points and 13 rebounds and Emily Salvador scored 10.Claudia Larsen posted 17 points and 14 rebounds for Newell-Fonda. All-tournament captain Renee Maneman added 14 points.Larson's basket with 3:33 left in the third quarter gave the Mustangs a 43-31 lead, but the Nikes were within six by the end of the period, then Kilbride's first two free throws put Notre Dame in front, 48-47.The Nikes pushed their lead to seven, then Taiyler Schrank's 3-pointer tied the game at 54, setting the stage for Kilbride's clutch freebies.

Western Christian 79, Hudson 55
The top-ranked Wolfpack took its place among the all-time Iowa five-player greats.Western (27-1) claimed the school's third straight title, becoming the sixth team in state history to win at least three in a row.All-tournament captain Jamie Gesink registered 24 points and 10 rebounds. Kenzie Bousema and Summer Jansen added 13 points apiece, and Alissa Pollema collected 12 assists.Lindsey Koch led Hudson (25-2) with 20 points.The 2A all-tournament team included Nicole Miller of North Linn and Abbey Meyer of Cascade.
