Stark named to AVCA all-American team

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Mount Vernon's Ali Stark has been selected to the 25-player American Volleyball Coaches Association/Under Armour Girls' High School All-American Team.Stark helped lead Mount Vernon to back-to-back state championships -- Class 2A in 2009 and 3A in 2010. The 6-foot outside hitter has committed to play at the University of Illinois.Stark was the only Iowan picked to the first team. Teammate Courtney Kintzel was named honorable mention, as were Rachel Peth of Waverly-Shell Rock and Tory Knuth of Johnston.
