Shepherd picks up 750th win

INDEPENDENCE -- Harold Shepherd has become the fourth girls' basketball coach in state history to earn 750 victories in a career.
West Delaware defeated Independence, 53-43, Friday night to get Shepherd the milestone in his 47th season.
Shepherd, who led Vinton to the 1984 six-player championship and Vinton-Shellsburg to the Class 3A five-player crown in 1995, is 750-323.
West Delaware is 6-2 this season.
