Seniors battle in Cedar Rapids city golf amatuer

CEDAR RAPIDS – Todd Hingtgen fired a three-under par 69 at Twin Pines to take the lead after the first day of the Cedar Rapids Senior City Amatuer on Saturday.
Hingtgen leads Scott Carnes and George Gartelos by a stroke. Mark Greve shot a 71 and Perry Smith is in fifth with a 72.
Reno Faust and Tony Foss are tied for the senior division lead with a 76. Scott Benson shot a 69 to take the silver senior division lead by a stroke over Gay Strunk.
Play resumes at 8 a.m. Sunday at Ellis.
