Schuchmann hits 800

MANCHESTER - Kevin Schuchmann collected his 800th career victory Monday night, when West Delaware swept Maquoketa, 2-0 and 8-4, in a Wamac Conference softball double-header.
Schuchmann is 801-424 in 29 years of coaching, including 365-106 in 11 years at West Delaware. He led the Hawks to a Class 3A state championship in 2007.
This year's team is 6-0 and ranked 10th in Class 4A. The Hawks are at Clear Creek Amana on Wednesday.
