RoughRiders ride big 3rd period to win at Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders exploded for six of the game's final seven goals Saturday night and topped the Bloomington Thunder, 6-3, at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Bloomington scored twice in the first half of the first period, only to have Cedar Rapids tie on goals from Johnny DeRoche and Ross Colton. It was DeRoche's first United States Hockey League goal.
Matt Gosiewski scored late in the second period to give the Riders their first lead, 3-2. Colton, Mitch Reinke and Luke Morgan had goals in the third period.
Cedar Rapids outshot Bloomington by a 35-30 margin. Ben Blacker got the win in net.
The RoughRiders (9-6-1, 19 standings points) play on Thanskgiving Thursday night at Waterloo, host Madison on Friday night and Waterloo on Saturday night.
