Regina football supports Breast Cancer Awareness

Top-ranked Iowa City Regina will host Wapello in a Class 1A District 6 game at Regina, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Regals will divert from their traditional uniforms, wearing pink crowns on their helmets, showing support for Breast Cancer Awareness. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink for the cause. Pink balloons will be sold for $5, raising funds for Holden Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
'We feel that this is a great cause and one that we wanted to get behind,' Booster Club President Tom Brandt said in a news release. 'We encourage others to come out and be part of this great event.'
Regina is 7-0 and 5-0 in district play. The Regals have won 49 straight games. Wapello is 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the district. With a win, Regina will pass Harlan (2003-06) for second on the list of the state's longest win streaks. Waterloo East is first, going 56 straight games without a loss, including 55 straight wins from 1965-71.

REGINA REGALS PINK NIGHT!
The Iowa City Regina Regal Football team will wear Pink Crowns on their helmets this Friday night to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness. Head coach Marv Cook and the top-ranked Regals, winners of 49 straight games, encourage fans to also wear pink in support of this great cause. In addition to the crowns fans will be able to purchase a pink balloon in honor of loved ones that have or had cancer. The balloons are $5 each with the proceeds benefiting the Holden Cancer Center at the University of Iowa. 'We feel that this is a great cause and one that we wanted to get behind,' said Booster Club President Tom Brandt. 'We encourage others to come out and be part of this great event.' Regina will take on Wapello at the high school with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
