Recapping the lost #oniowapod

In what turned out as an incredible (and frustrating) waste of time, the second edition of the 'On Iowa Podcast” is lost in cyberspace. Marc Morehouse and I recorded it Wednesday morning before I left for Big Ten media days in Chicago and while he was crafting the weekly Game Day section. It was a good podcast, I thought.

Instead, when it was in the exporting process, the error message '8-bit format and cannot be played” surfaced. Our digital editor tried to salvage it, but the audio was gone. Kaput. (Marc did do a podcast on Thursday with our friends at Hawkeye Report, so I'd recommend downloading that in place of this ghost pod.)

I won't go over the banter (Cubs talk, previewing Big Ten basketball media day) and our game breakdown, but I'll recap the predictions segment and where we stand. Entering this weekend, Marc and I are each 59-10 in selecting Big Ten games. Last week I was 5-2 (losses were Nebraska and Purdue) and Marc was 6-1 (loss was Purdue). Here's how we picked this week's Big Ten games:

Purdue at Wisconsin (-23 1/2)

Rutgers at Indiana (-5 1/2)

- SCOTT: Rutgers 35-24; MARC: Rutgers 28-17

Nebraska at Minnesota (-2 1/2)

- SCOTT: Nebraska 31-20; MARC: Nebraska 21-20

Michigan State at Michigan (-7)

- SCOTT: Michigan 24-21; MARC: Michigan 24-21

Penn State at Ohio State (-18)

- SCOTT: Ohio State 31-17; MARC: Ohio State 34-14

Iowa (-1 1/2) at Northwestern
