Preseason state volleyball rankings

Ankeny, Sioux City Heelan, Western Christian and Tripoli are the No. 1 teams in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union's preseason volleyball rankings.
Western and Tripoli are defending champions in 2A and 1A. Ankeny was the 4A runner-up while Heelan advanced to the semifinals in 3A.
Defending 4A champion Iowa City West opens at No. 4. Mount Vernon, which won the 2009 title in 2A and the 2010 3A crown, is back in 2A and rated 10th.
