Plenty of volleyball action will be on display this weekend

Class 4A third-ranked Iowa City West hosts the West Volleyball Extravanganza with pool playing starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. The 12-team field includes three Class 3A powers: No. 1 Mount Vernon, No. 4 Dubuque Wahlert and No. 5 Pella. Pella Christian and Waterloo Columbus are ranked in 2A.Linn-Mar, No. 7 in 4A, hosts an invitational tournament Saturday that includes Cedar Rapids Prairie, Iowa City Regina and Marion. Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Cedar Rapids Kennedy travel to Runnells for Southeast Polk's Ram Classic, and Cedar Rapids Xavier and Iowa City High compete at the North Scott Invitational.
