Patrick provides quote of the day (Video)

NEWTON - Danica Patrick had a different spin on a well-known saying about displays of bravery.

Patrick shared a female twist on an old adage during a press conference Friday before qualifying for the IZOD IndyCar Series Iowa Corn Indy 250 at Iowa Speedway.

Patrick, who has placed in the top 10 at Iowa Speedway the last three years including a sixth-place finish in 2008, was describing how she is more comfortable with her ride around the short oval this year compared to last when she placed 10th.

“I think we made it better,” Patrick said of her car, following it. “Last year in practice I don't know if I went full out until qualifying and that took some ovaries to do because I wasn't excited to do it, but I did it."

After she received a compliment about the amusing quote she said, "I can't say the other. That just sounds like I'm swearing. I figure I'd use the accurate one."

Patrick also skirted around the issue of whether she will return to the track in an IndyCar. Patrick, who also competes in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, might have to make a decision between the two next year.

“I don't know if that's the case,” said Patrick, who will not run in the Nationwide's U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway on Aug. 6. “I don't know if I'll be back here in an IndyCar or not.

“I don't know if that transition will happen or not, so I can't answer your question."
