MARION - Morgan Paige's professional basketball career is about to begin.
Paige, a former all-stater at Marion High School and all-Big Ten performer at the University of Wisconsin, has joined the SCM Craiova franchise in Romania.
She is the only American on the roster.
Craiova already is in the middle of its season. A member of Romania's Liga Nationala, it owns a 3-13 record and has 10 games remaining. Its regular season concludes Feb. 28.
Last season at Wisconsin, Paige averaged 12.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. She was a third-team all-Big Ten selection in 2013.
At Marion, Paige was a two-time first-team all-stater and led the Indians to state twice. She averaged 25 points per game as a senior in 2010 and concluded her high school career with 1,777 points.
After her departure from Madison, Paige served as an assistant coach at Coe College. She is the older sister of University of North Carolina all-American men's player Marcus Paige.
Craiova's next game is Saturday.
