On vacation in Phoenix: brush with MLB greatness

Am on vacation with my wife for a few days in Phoenix. Spending time with all the in-laws. Weather has been in the 70s and sunny, sunny, sunny. Ha.
The house we're staying at is across the street from a house belonging to former major leaguer Dave Leiper. He was a pitcher who threw in 264 MLB games.
Here are his career stats:

Got to meet Leiper a little earlier this evening. Very nice fella who played in the Midwest League in the 1980s for the Madison Muskies. Claimed he remembered there was an old-time Cedar Rapids Reds fan who would get to his seat a couple of hours before each game and heckle the opposing team.
Also told a good story about former Madison teammate Jose Canseco. Stop me sometime when you see me and I'll tell it to you. Not steroid related, by the way.
Anyway, we're heading to an NHL game tomorrow night between the Phoenix Coyotes and Dallas Stars. Picked up some tickets today.
Here are some photos of University of Phoenix Stadium and Jobing.com Arena, which are right next door to each other. Also a very nice area right next to the stadium/arena with tons of restaurants and bars, including Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
Here are some photos:

University of Phoenix Stadium. Can you see the space ship resemblance?
