Noelridge to host XC qualifier

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Noelridge Park will be one of five state-qualifying sites for cross country, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa High School Athletic Association announced Wednesday.Boys' districts and girls' regionals are Oct. 18. The top three teams and top 10 individuals advance to the state meet Oct. 27 at Lakeside Golf Course, Fort Dodge.Kennedy High School is the host for the Noelridge meet. Other area hosts are Anamosa (3A), Monticello (2A) and Starmont (1A).Team assignments for the state-qualifiying meets will be released at a later date.Here are the sites:

Class 4A -- Cedar Rapids (Noelridge), Carroll, Marshalltown, Pleasant Valley, Waukee.

Class 3A -- Anamosa, Atlantic, Pella, Spencer, Waverly.

Class 2A -- Ames, Columbus Junction, Galva, Monticello, Panorama.

Class 1A -- Arlington, Atlantic, Galva, Marshalltown, Ottumwa.
