AMES - So much for that impending Arizona State visit.
Former UNLV guard Bryce Dejean-Jones - who planned a trip to Tempe after visiting Iowa State's campus this weekend - announced on Twitter Sunday he plans to be a Cyclone.
'It's very nice there,” Dejean-Jones said while attending Saturday's ISU football spring game. 'I'm very pleased with everything.”
Apparently so.
Dejean-Jones is on target to graduate this summer, so as long as that happens, he'll be eligible to play all of 2014-15.
The 6-5, 210-pound senior-to-be led the Runnin' Rebels in scoring at 13.6 points per game last season. He also pitched in 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
The former top-100 prep recruit's commitment to joining Coach Fred Hoiberg's Cyclones leaves ISU with two remaining scholarships for next season.
'I love the direction that we're headed,” Hoiberg, who recently received a raise, said Saturday about the program in general.
Dejean-Jones does, too - particularly the Cyclones' up-tempo style, which helped lead to the program's first NCAA tournament Sweet 16 appearance since 2000.
'And the way Coach Hoiberg spreads his court, it fits me well,” Dejean-Jones said.
