Melo Trimble scored 20 points, including two huge late 3-pointers, and Maryland overcame 21 turnovers to stave off Iowa's comeback.
Iowa trailed by 14 in the first half but rallied to take a 69-66 lead, thanks in part to Maryland's inability to hold on to the ball and 20 offensive rebounds leading to 19 second-chance points.
Trimble made the tying and go-ahead 3s to put Maryland up 75-72 and the Terps never trailed again.
Iowa falls to 11-9 overall and 3-4 in the Big Ten. Maryland is now 17-2, 5-1 and still atop the Big Ten.
