Nebraska seeking Big Ten membership
The University of Nebraska plans to apply for membership in the Big Ten Conference and expects to be accepted.
Chancellor Harvey Perlman disclosed the plan Friday during a meeting of the university's Board of Regents.
Nebraska's departure would be a big blow to the Big 12, which lost Colorado to the Pac-10 Conference on Thursday.

Omaha World-Herald reports the Cornhuskers have already accepted the Big Ten's invitation.
