Monticello runs to a title, and more may be coming

FORT DODGE -- A championship, for sure. A budding dynasty, perhaps.
All five of Monticello's scoring runners broke 17 minutes, and the Panthers cashed in on their 15th consecutive state-meet appearance, winning the Class 2A boys' crown Saturday afternoon at Lakeside Golf Course.
"We knew if we could have five boys in the 16s, we would have an excellent chance," said Monticello Coach Dan Sauser. "When you come here, you have to perform. If you don't, you can be the best team and not win."
