Metro-I.C. boys' hoops roundup for Tuesday night

Class 4A top-ranked Linn-Mar put the hammer down and routed Dubuque Hempstead, 72-55, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys' basketball game last night at Dubuque.The Lions (10-0, 6-0) forced 20 first-half turnovers and led 50-17 at the break.
The game moved to a continuous clock about one minute into the second half. Marcus Paige scored 18 points for Linn-Mar, and Matt Bohannon popped in three 3-pointers en route to a 15-point night.Hempstead (3-5, 3-3) had 32 turnovers for the game. Paige recorded six steals.
CEDAR FALLS 69, IOWA CITY HIGH 45 - Andrew McNulty and Tony Perry had eight points and five rebounds apiece for City High at Cedar Falls. Ronald Thompson had eight points and Cortez Barfield added five rebounds for the Little Hawks (0-10, 0-6 MVC).
C.R. KENNEDY 70, WATERLOO EAST 52 - Kyle Lamaak led all scorers with 25 points and Jake Manning added 12 points for Class 4A sixth-ranked Kennedy (9-1, 5-1 MVC) at home. Josiah Coleman added 11 points for the Cougars.
C.R. JEFFERSON 72, WATERLOO WEST 42 - Jarrod Uthoff posted game-highs with 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead Cedar Rapids Jefferson to a Mississippi Valley Conference road victory.Tyler Meiborg added 12 points and a team-high six assists for the J-Hawks (8-1, 5-1 MVC). Trent Washington and Dale Jones scored eight points apiece to lead the Wahawks (3-5).
IOWA CITY WEST 60, DUBUQUE WAHLERT 40 - Dondre Alexander led all players with 15 points to lead Iowa City West to a Mississippi Valley Conference victory at home.Jeremy Morgan added 12 points for the Trojans (5-4, 3-2 MVC). Dan Sisler led the Golden Eagles with eight points.
MARION 63, WATERLOO COLUMBUS 27 - Kasey Semler nearly surpassed Waterloo Columbus' entire offensive output, scoring 22 points on 10 field goals to lead Marion to the Wamac Conference victory. Tyler Roby led the Sailors with nine points.
DUBUQUE SENIOR 48, C.R. PRAIRIE 46 - Connor Grant had a putback with 10 seconds left to win it for Senior (5-4, 2-4 MVC). Matt MacDougall had 12 points and Matt Jantzen 11 for Prairie (3-7, 2-4), which missed two shots to tie in the dying moments.
