McTaggart runs wild as West Delaware tops Decorah

WEST DELAWARE 38, DECORAH 21
Trey McTaggart rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns and Sam Lahr added 116 yards and a touchdown as West Delaware broke away in the second half to post a 38-21 Class 3A District 4 win over No. 10 Decorah in a prep football showdown Friday in Manchester.
McTaggart scored on runs of 60, 1, 36 and 18 yards. Lahr scored on a 16-yard run. The Hawks (5-1, 4-0) racked up 445 yards of total offense, 365 on the ground.
Decorah (4-2, 3-1) was led by Josey Jewell with 87 rushing yards. Kyle Hove added 67 yards on the ground. Quarterback Blake Moen scored on runs of 8 and 6 yards. Kyle Kregel had two receptions for 77 yards.

DYERSVILLE BECKMAN 45, JESUP 0 - The Blazers dominated from start to finish with an easy Class 2A, District 4 victory at Jesup.
Derek Hammann led the Blazers with 183 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown. Lucas Jacque scored a pair of TDs on the ground and Connor Golden completed TD passes of 47 yards to Robbie Anstoetter and 11 yards to Nate Steger.
Jesup is 0-6, 0-4.

WEST LIBERTY 42, TIPTON 14
WEST BRANCH 48, HIGHLAND 14 - Sid Thompson had a 99-yard kickoff return for a score to help lead the Bears to a Class 1A, District 6 home win.
The play was the longest scoring play in West Branch history.
Cade Jones 13 carries for 129 yards and three scores, all in the first half as the Bears led 35-0 at halftime.
Tyler Donavan had an 81-yard punt return for a score in the second half.
The Bears (4-2, 3-1) also had a pair of interceptions from linebacker Eli Elliott. Highland is 2-4, 1-3.

MID-PRAIRIE 40, WEST BURLINGTON NOTRE DAME 0 - Jaemin Powell rushed for 110 yards on just eight carries and scored two touchdowns while Steven Jones added 108 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries to lead Mid-Prairie to the win at Wellman.
Powell scored on a 55-yard touchdown run and added an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to start the second half for Mid-Prairie (4-2).
VINTON-SHELLSBURG 41, ANAMOSA 17 - After falling behind 10-0, Vinton-Shellsburg came on strong to win a Class 3A, District 5 contest in Vinton.
Anamosa took a 10-0 lead on 34-yard pass from Nik Schulte to Austin Holub in the second quarter. From then on it was all Vikings. Gunner Tranel carried 26 times for 226 yards and four touchdowns for Vinton-Shellsburg (3-3, 1-3).
Alex Breon rushed 10 times for 65 yards to lead Anamosa (2-4, 0-4).

SOLON 42, SOUTH TAMA 20 - Jordan Wymer had a 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to lead Solon to the win at Tama.
Cody Fritz had 13 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown, while Andy Klouda added six carries for 42 yards and two touchdowns, J.J. Hanus completed four of seven passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Hanus threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Austin Dall for the Spartans (5-1, 4-0).
LONE TREE 32, BGM 6 - Danny Brau rushed for 210 yards on 29 carries for BGM (3-1 A-6, 4-2) at Brooklyn.
CASCADE 41, MFL MAR-MAC 0 - Timmie Kleitsch completed 6 of 15 passes and had three touchdowns as Cascade rolled to a win at home.
Jesse Bergfeld had four catches for 114 yards, while Alec Hoffman had 20 carries for 121 yards and two touchdowns for the Cougars (3-3, 2-2 2A-4).
VALLEY COMMUNITY 28, EAST BUCHANAN 26 - Matt Imoehl rushed 115 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns, while Mike Burgin added 111 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns as English Valleys (1-5, 1-3 A-4) defeated East Buchanan.
Brent Barth had 21 carries for 110 yards with two touchdowns, and Vinny Mossman ran for 95 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchowns in the loss for the Bucs.
WAVERLY-SHELL ROCK 28, CRESTWOOD 19 - Walker Erskine had touchdown runs of 1, 2 and 10 yards to lead Waverly-Shell Rock (6-0) to the win at Crestwood.
Kolter Friedhof completed a 31-yard touchdown pass to Kaleb Lienhard to lead Crestwood at home
