Marion, Benton Community volleyball teams to 'Hit Like A Girl'

The Marion and Benton Community volleyball teams are partnering together for a breast cancer awareness volleyball match tonight at Marion.Both varsity teams will be wearing pink jerseys for the game. A short ceremony will be held prior to the start of the varsity game to honor breast cancer survivors in attendance.Fundraising for the event will include both schools selling pink T-shirts with the slogan of “Hit Like A Girl,” as well as donation challenges in the week leading up to the game.Proceeds from fundraising activities will benefit the Cedar Rapids-based “Especially for You” program, which provides free mammograms and other breast care services to area individuals in need.
