There comes a time when you can't say you aren't getting respected nationally.
Iowa State's men's basketball team is at that time.
The Cyclones' bandwagon has picked up a lot of passengers from national and East Coast sports media. Here is a sampling:
The New York Daily News' Ian Powers says Iowa State, not Kentucky, is the national champion-to-be.
Yahoo Sports' Jeff Eisenberg calls the Cyclones one of seven teams that can win it all.
Someone from the Newark Star-Ledger (NJ.com) who goes by the pseudonym 'Bracket Boy” has Iowa State going to the Final Four.
Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post says if you care about college basketball, you'll root for Iowa State to reach the Final Four.
Bill Landis of the Cleveland Plain Dealer also has Iowa State reaching Indianapolis.
Pat Borzi of the New York Times wrote this story about the Cyclones.
Attention for the Iowa Hawkeyes isn't as widespread, however ...
Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated says the Hawkeyes will take out Gonzaga this weekend and get a date with Iowa State in Houston next week in the Sweet 16. Davis has ISU proceeding to beat Iowa and Duke in Houston to go to the Final Four.
Gonzaga, and Duke, will presumably show up and compete in the South Region.
