Josh Oglesby grew up wanting to be an
Iowa Hawkeye, and indications are the Cedar Rapids Washington senior basketball swingman will indeed be one.Oglesby has called a 12:30 press conference Wednesday afternoon at Washington at which is it believed he will announce he is accepting a scholarship offer to the University of Iowa, we have learned through sources. The 6-foot-5 Oglesby averaged 16.2 points per game last season and shot 40 percent from 3-point range, helping his team to the Class 4A state tournament.Oglesby is a three-star recruit according to rivals.com, with his college stock rising significantly after a successful AAU summer playing for the Iowa Barnstormers. He received 13 Division I offers and has taken official visits to Iowa, Minnesota and last weekend to Arizona State. A fourth official visit to Illinois this weekend has been cancelled.Minnesota got a commitment from Twin Cities off guard Joe Coleman late last week, which is a further indication Oglesby will wind up in Iowa City. We will be live-streaming Oglesby's press conference at
www.easterniowahighschoolsports.com and
www.iowaprepsports.com.This would be the first recruit from the state for new coach
Fran McCaffery. Iowa offered Cedar Rapids Jefferson senior forward Jarrod Uthoff over the summer, but he chose Wisconsin.WATCH Oglesby's press conference right here, starting at 12:30 p.m.![HTML1]
