Live coverage of Kurt Warner's news conference plus taking your questions and comments about his legacy begins at 1:45 p.m.
Kurt Warner has scheduled a news conference in Arizona. The all-pro quarterback has a Super Bowl ring and has twice been the NFL's MVP. But people in his hometown know him more for his off-the-field work.
Sure, he's won the Superbowl...but he's also built homes with Habitat for Humanity and helped the Red Cross with flood relief.
"He's such a humble guy, and so I think the message I got from him was really a message of persistence," said Jeff Capps, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity.
Just about everybody has their own story to tell about famous number 13. J.R. Ogden coached him in 8th grade basketball.
"I always say he was the best player on a very average team," said J.R. Ogden, Warner's former coach.
Kurt used his fame and riches from football to help others. Sometimes his work made headlines back home, often it didn't.
"I think he's comeback many times and a lot of us don't even know about. He works with the Special Olympics on things they did not promote. You couldn't go get a picture of him because he didn't tell anybody he was coming back. He wanted to do it on his own."
Many of his biggest fans say we can all learn something from the way he played football, to never quit. Lessons Warner also carried off the field.
