Lisbon's Tait Simpson notches big upset at state wrestling

Tait Simpson had a bit of an attitude this week. Brashness, confidence, whatever it was it served him well.
Simpson notched a big upset, dropping second-ranked Jared Hefler of Ogden, 7-5, and helping Lisbon climb to third in the team race after the first day of the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 1A state wrestling tournament Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena. The Lions have 14 points, trailing second place Eddyville-Blakesburg by 4½. Don Bosco leads with 26 and eight quarterfinalists.
