Landon Cassill finishes 20th at Bristol Monday

Apr. 16, 2018 4:04 pm
Landon Cassill, the Cedar Rapids native who hopped back into Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing last month, was 20th in the Food City 500 at Bristol, Tenn.
The race was suspended Sunday because of rain. It was won by Kyle Busch.
Cassill's finish was the best for a StarCom Racing driver in the series.
This is the first Cup season since 2010 in which Cassill hasn't had a full-time ride. This was his 261st career start. Monday's was his best finish since he was 19th at last July's race at the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.
Cassill joined StarCom in March when the team parted ways with driver Jeffrey Earnhardt. He finished last at his debut race with the team in Martinsville, Va., because of mechanical failure. He was 21st in last weekend's race at Fort Worth, Texas.
It was originally a two-race deal between StarCom and Cassill, but the partnership is continuing.
