MacDonald Motorsports at Iowa:In just two career starts at Iowa Speedway, MacDonald Motorsports has enjoyed some success. Just last season, Michael McDowell drove the K-Love No. 81 to an impressive 13th place finish. This was the team's second best result of the 2010 season and they hope to be able to match that result this weekend.
Blake Koch on Iowa: ”I feel really good about Iowa. We had a fast car at Richmond and Iowa is very similar. It's also a track that I am familiar with so we don't have to waste our first set of tires with me learning the track.”
Previous experience at Iowa for Blake: This will be the first track this season that Blake will go into with prior experience. Blake actually has 3 career starts at the 7/8 mile D-shaped oval driving in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. In two races there in 2009 Blake recorded a 9th and a 20th place finish among west contenders. In 2010 Blake had an excellent run and finished 5th among West racers and 13th overall.
Dover Wrap-Up:Dover will be a race the MacDonald Motorsports as a team will want to forget about. Wrecking both cars together on the 1st lap is as bad as it gets. The one bright spot from the weekend was how fast the Daystar.com No. 81 was in practice. Blake was 21st on the time charts after final practice and the team can leave Dover knowing they had a fast race car.
Iowa Speedway Jr. Pit Crew Appearance: Blake will be doing a meet-and-greet with the kids of the Iowa Speedway Jr. Pit crew on Sunday at 11:45 am. The Jr. Pit Crew is geared for kids aged 5-12 and a great way for young race fans to become involved at the Speedway on race day.
