Kennedy wrestlers have strong showing in Colorado

Seventeen members of the Cedar Rapids Kennedy wrestling team participated in the Team Excel Team Camp last week in Estes Park, Colo. The Cougars experienced a Rocky Mountain High, performing well at the team dual camp.The Cougars, led by head coach Brent Paulson, went 9-2 in dual meet action against teams from across the country, going 7-0 and inning its eight-team pool. Kennedy's group placed fourth overall. Among the notable wins, the Cougars knocked off Wiggins, Colo., the defending state champions in Colorado's small-school class.The camp concluded with an individual tournament with four Kennedy wrestlers finishing in the top 2. Zach Parsons won the 175-pound title.
