Rachel Broghammer's free throw with seven seconds left forced overtime, and Cedar Rapids Jefferson pulled away in the extra session to cap a come-from-behind victory over Bettendorf, 66-60, last night in the season opener at home.
Jefferson's comeback was aided in large part by its ability to get to the free throw line, making 20 of 30 attempts. Broghammer made 9 of 14 free throws, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Three other J-Hawks scored in double figures - Taylor Jacobson 16, Maddie Koolbeck 15 and Maddy Blietz 10.
