University of Iowa running back Barkley Hill is returning home, the team announced on Wednesday.
Hill, a former Cedar Falls High School prep, will leave Iowa and enroll at the University of Northern Iowa, where he can play immediately.
Hill did not see any action this past season and red-shirted in 2012 after injuring his knee before playing a game.
He was a Parade All-American as a senior at Cedar Falls and The Gazette's Offensive Player of Year. He rushed for more than 6,000 yards and scored 89 touchdowns as a prep.
Iowa's Barkley Hill takes a handoff from Jake Rudock during an open practice at Kinnick Stadium in 2012. Hill will transfer to UNI, according to Hawkeye Insider. (Jim Slosiarek/The Gazette-KCRG)
