Oct. 7, 2018 6:03 pm
IOWA CITY — If you're into numbers and rankings, then the Iowa Hawkeyes got a late steal.
McKenna Warnock, a 6-foot-1 guard from Monona Grove, Wis., announced her commitment to the women's basketball program Sunday, via Twitter.
Warnock is ranked No. 86 among high school seniors, according to ESPN. She averaged 28.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game as a junior, earning second-team all-state accolades by the Associated Press as a senior.
Also a volleyball player, Warnock reportedly picked the Hawkeyes over Stanford, Arizona, Marquette and Wisconsin.
Warnock joins Megan Meyer (Mason City) and Gabbie Marshall (Mason, Ohio) in Iowa's Class of 2019.
