Iowa walk-on guards to leave program
IOWA CITY — Iowa walk-on guards Michael Soukup and Steven Soukup will transfer to play basketball at another school, Iowa men's basketball spokesman Matt Weitzel confirmed Friday afternoon.
The Soukups, who are 6-foot-4 twins from Danville, combined to play 29 minutes in six games last season. They will have one year of eligibility.
'They were great teammates last year, and we wish them best on their senior seasons,' Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery said in a statement.
The Soukups played two years at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington before transferring to Iowa.
