What to know: Iowa is finishing a 2-game trip to southern California after losing 99-89 at USC Tuesday.
USC shot 64.9 percent from the field. Over the Hawkeyes’ three Big Ten road games, all losses, the opponents have shot 61.6 percent and outrebounded Iowa by 16 per game.
Payton Sandfort scored 15 second-half points, giving him 66 in the second-halves of his last three games. Owen Freeman led Iowa with a career-high 23 points. He has scored at least 13 in every game he’s played this season.

It’s the first meeting between Iowa and UCLA since 1990. In 1965, the Hawkeyes defeated No. 1 UCLA in Chicago, 87-82. The Bruins had won 43 of their previous 44 games and went on to win the national-championship that year.
In 1974, UCLA won its 88th-straight game with a 68-44 decision over the Hawkeyes, also in Chicago. Two days later, the Bruins’ NCAA record streak ended with a loss at Notre Dame.
Don MacLean, the color commentator for FS1’s telecast of this game, scored 18 points in the last UCLA-Iowa game, an 88-71 Hawkeyes win in Iowa City in 1990.
