Iowa State notes: Hakeem Butler questionable, Nigel Tribune available against TCU

Redshirt freshman receiver Hakeem Butler, who suffered an apparent leg injury late in the fourth quarter against Iowa, is questionable to play against TCU. He didn't practice Sunday.

'I watched it on the way home. It looked really bad,' Campbell said. 'We dodged a huge bullet, to be honest.

'We'll get him back on the field as soon as we possibly can. We're really lucky because he's been playing really well for us right now.'

TRIBUNE'S SUSPENSION ENDS

Senior defensive back Nigel Tribune will be available Saturday after serving a suspension for the first two games stemming from an OWI arrest this summer. Tribune owns the most career starts (26) of anyone on the ISU roster and has 131 tackles, 26 pass break-ups and four interceptions in his career.

'Nigel has done everything above and beyond what we asked I him to do to get himself back to the status where he's available to play,' Campbell said. 'We're excited to have Nigel back, a senior who has talent to help ourselves on defense.'

ALLEN RECOVERING

Freshman tight end Chase Allen was in sweats and unavailable against Iowa after a bout with the flu, Campbell said. Allen was also hit by a car outside of the ISU practice facility before fall camp and received 103 stitches in his back.

'He got the flu right before the UNI game, we thought we got it nipped in the bud, went back into the hospital last weekend [on] Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and finally got him out of the hospital last week,' Campbell said. 'Chase is a guy that we're still pressing forward with. We'll see where he's at this week.

'Obviously we're going to do what's best for Chase Allen, but it would be great to get him back with us and I think he can give us certainly some needed reps at the tight end position for sure. But we'll make sure he's ready to go before we do any of that.'
